FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order quantity?

It depends on the method. DTG has no minimum — order a single piece. DTF and embroidery both start at 12 pieces. Screen printing starts around 24 pieces, because each colour needs its own screen setup.

How long does production take?

Standard production is about 5–7 business days after artwork approval and payment, for every method. Rush options: 3-business-day rush adds 25%, and 1–2 day priority rush adds 40%. Shipping time is not included. Same-day may be possible — call us. Rush is subject to an additional fee. All turnaround times begin after design approval.

Do you ship outside of New York?

Yes. We ship anywhere in the continental United States. Expedited shipping options are available. International shipping can be arranged — contact us for a custom quote.

Can I provide my own garments?

Yes, we accept customer-supplied garments. Please contact us before sending items to confirm compatibility with our printing methods. Additional fees may apply for customer-supplied goods.

What file formats do you accept?

We prefer vector files (.AI, .EPS, .PDF, .SVG) for the best print quality. We also accept high-resolution .PNG and .TIFF files (300 DPI minimum). Our design team can convert or clean up your files if needed.

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Yes. We have a dedicated wholesale program for resellers, clothing brands, and high-volume clients. Discounts range from 10% to 35% depending on volume. Visit our Wholesale page to apply.

What types of customers do you serve?

We work with businesses, contractors, restaurants, auto shops, schools, teams, clubs, events, organizations, clothing brands, resellers, and individuals.

Do I need to pay before production starts?

Yes. A required deposit must be received before production begins. The payment details will be included with your quote.

Can I reorder the same design later?

Yes. We can keep approved artwork on file for new employees, replacement garments, repeat events, and future orders.

Can I mix sizes, colors, or garment types?

Yes. Tell us your size breakdown, garment preferences, and any department or team differences when requesting your quote.

What if I do not have a print-ready logo?

Send us what you have. We will review it and let you know whether it is ready for printing or needs adjustments.

How do I know which printing method is best?

We will recommend the method based on your quantity, garment, design, number of colors, print size, and deadline.

Screen Printing vs. DTG: How to Choose the Right Method

The biggest decision for any apparel order. We break down cost, quality, and use cases so you always choose right.

Quantity decides it more than anything else. Screen printing pushes ink through a separate stencil for each colour, so there is setup work before the first shirt is printed. That setup is the same whether you print 24 shirts or 500, which is why the price per piece falls so sharply as the order grows, and why we start screen printing at 24 pieces.

DTG prints like an inkjet, straight onto the garment. There are no screens to make, so there is no minimum and a single shirt is perfectly reasonable. It handles photographs, gradients and unlimited colours without extra cost, and it is at its best on 100% cotton.

The short version: a simple one or two colour logo on a decent quantity belongs on a screen press. A detailed or full-colour design, or a small run, belongs on DTG. DTF sits between the two and works on fabrics neither of the others likes. If you are not sure, tell us the design and the quantity and we will say which one we would use and why.

Bulk Orders

10 Tips for Placing a Bulk Apparel Order Without Any Headaches

From file prep to size breakdowns — here's what every first-time bulk buyer needs to know to avoid costly mistakes.

1. Start with the deadline, not the design. Standard production is roughly 5–7 business days after artwork approval, and shipping is on top of that. Work backwards from the date you need them in hand.

2. Count the people, then add some. Reorders of five shirts cost far more per piece than including them in the first run.

3. Get the size breakdown before you order, not after. Ask the group. Guessing produces a box of unworn smalls.

4. Send the best version of your file you have — vector (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG) if it exists, otherwise a PNG at 300 DPI with a transparent background.

5. Decide the garment early. A hoodie costs considerably more than a tee, and it changes the whole budget.

6. Count your colours. On screen printing, each extra colour adds to every piece.

7. Count your locations. A back print is a second pass, not a freebie.

8. Approve the digital proof carefully. It is the last point at which a change is free.

9. Keep one contact person. Orders go wrong when three people email three different changes.

10. Ask before you assume. A two-minute phone call has saved a lot of orders.

Design Tips

Design Guidelines for Screen Printing: What Your File MUST Have

A poorly prepared file can cost you time and money. Follow these guidelines and your artwork will be press-ready, every time.

Vector beats everything. AI, EPS, PDF and SVG files are made of shapes rather than pixels, so they can be scaled to any size without losing an edge. If your designer made your logo, they have one of these. Ask for it.

If you only have a raster file, make it a big one. 300 DPI at the actual print size, with a transparent background. A logo pulled off a website is usually 72 DPI and a few hundred pixels wide — it will look soft and pixelated on fabric, and no amount of enlarging fixes it.

Flatten the colour count deliberately. Every colour needs its own screen, so a design with six colours costs more than the same design with two. Simple, bold artwork is both cheaper and, usually, better looking on a shirt.

Mind the thin lines and small text. Very fine detail can fill in or break up on fabric in a way it never does on paper.

Tell us the garment colour. Light ink on dark fabric needs a white underbase, and that affects how the colours sit.

Wholesale

How to Start a Clothing Brand Using a Print-on-Demand or Wholesale Model

Whether you're launching a new brand or scaling an existing one, this guide covers production models, margins, and how to work with a print partner.

Make a sample before you make inventory. DTG has no minimum, so you can print one piece, wear it, wash it and see how the print and the garment actually hold up. This is the cheapest mistake you will ever make, and skipping it is the most expensive one.

Choose the blank as carefully as the design. Customers judge the feel of the shirt before they look at the print. A heavier, better-fitting blank changes how the whole brand is perceived, and it costs less than you would guess per piece.

Understand where the price breaks are. Small runs are flexible and more expensive per piece; screen printing becomes cheaper as volume rises. Many brands test with DTG or DTF and move to screen printing once a design is proven.

Keep your artwork files organised and versioned. When a design sells and you reorder in six months, you want the exact file, not an approximation.

Plan the size run from your actual sales, not from an even split.

Technical

What Resolution Does My File Need to Be for Quality Printing?

300 DPI, vector vs. raster, RGB vs. CMYK — we explain what actually matters and what you can stop worrying about.

300 DPI at the size it will actually print. That is the whole answer for a raster file. The catch is in the phrase "at the size it will print": an image that is 300 DPI at two inches wide is only 75 DPI when stretched to eight inches, and it will look it.

A rough check you can do yourself: a 10-inch-wide front print wants an image around 3000 pixels wide. Open the file and look at its pixel dimensions. If it is 600 pixels wide, it is not going to work.

Transparent backgrounds matter. A PNG with a transparent background prints only your design. A JPG always carries a solid rectangle behind it, which will show up on the garment.

Screenshots, social media downloads and images pulled from websites are almost always too small. They are compressed deliberately, and that compression cannot be undone.

Vector files have no resolution at all — AI, EPS, PDF and SVG scale to any size cleanly. If one exists, send it.

Embroidery

Embroidery 101: Everything You Need to Know Before Your First Order

Digitizing, thread counts, placement zones, and why embroidery makes your brand look premium — explained simply.

Embroidery is stitched, not printed, so your artwork has to be converted into a stitch file first. That conversion is called digitizing. It is a one-time charge per logo, not a per-piece cost, and once it is done we keep the file for your reorders.

Price moves with stitch count, not with colours. A dense, detailed logo takes more thread and more machine time than a simple one at the same size. Shrinking a logo does not always make it cheaper, because detail has to be preserved.

Fine detail and very small text are the limitation. Thread has a minimum thickness. A hairline in a vector logo cannot be stitched, so detailed marks often get simplified for embroidery — we will show you what it will look like before anything is sewn.

It belongs on structured garments. Polos, caps, jackets, aprons and workwear. It outlasts the garment it is on, which is why uniforms are embroidered rather than printed.

Our embroidery minimum is 12 pieces.

Production Options

Which Method Suits Crew Apparel

Most crew orders end up screen printed or embroidered — here's why.

Screen Printing — usually the pick

Most durable option for daily wear and repeated industrial washing. Best value once you're over about 24 shirts with a one- or two-colour logo.

Embroidery — for polos, caps and jackets

Stitched rather than printed, so it survives longer on garments that get worn hardest. The usual choice for supervisors and customer-facing staff.

DTF — for small crews or complex logos

Works on cotton, poly and blends, and handles full-colour logos. 12-piece minimum, so it suits a small crew or a mid-year top-up.

DTG — for detailed artwork, small runs

Full-colour direct-to-garment printing with no minimum. Best on cotton, best for detailed graphics rather than simple text logos.

Not sure which method you need? Tell us about your project and we'll help recommend the appropriate option.

FAQ

Common Questions

Often yes, but it depends on the garment. Some hi-vis fabrics and coatings don't take ink or heat the same way, and safety-rated garments can lose certification if decorated incorrectly. Send us the exact garment you want to use and we'll tell you honestly whether we can print it.
Your original order specs — garment, colour, artwork placement, sizes — stay on file. Reordering is a phone call rather than starting from scratch. Per-piece pricing depends on the quantity of the new order, not the original one.
Screen printing with plastisol ink is the most durable option for heavy wear and repeated washing, which is why we usually recommend it for crew shirts. Embroidery is even tougher, and suits polos, jackets and caps.
Yes, depending on the fabric and the method. Poly-heavy and treated workwear behaves differently from cotton. Contact us before buying a large batch so we can confirm it will print properly.
DTG has no minimum and DTF starts at 12 pieces, so a small run is fine. Screen printing starts around 24 pieces — below that the screen setup makes it more expensive per shirt, not less.

Production Options

Which Method Suits Restaurant Apparel

Wash frequency is the deciding factor for hospitality.

Screen Printing — best for wash durability

Plastisol ink handles frequent hot commercial washing better than anything else. The default for staff tees that get worn and washed constantly.

Embroidery — for polos, caps and aprons

A more formal finish for front-of-house, and it won't crack or fade with washing. Common for hosts, managers and branded caps.

DTF — for dark garments and full-colour logos

Lays a white underbase, so colour stays vivid on black aprons and dark tees. 12-piece minimum, useful for topping up as staff change.

DTG — for small batches

No minimum and full-colour detail. Good for a small team or a trial run before committing to a bigger order.

Not sure which method you need? Tell us about your project and we'll help recommend the appropriate option.

FAQ

Common Questions

That's the main thing to get right for hospitality. Screen printing with plastisol handles frequent hot washes best. Tell us how often the garments get washed and we'll steer you to the right method.
Yes. Different items may suit different methods — a cap is usually embroidered while a tee is printed — and we'll sort that out for you rather than making you choose.
Your approved specs stay on file so top-up orders don't start from zero. Per-piece pricing still depends on how many you order at a time, so most restaurants order a small buffer of common sizes up front.
Yes. DTF and screen printing both lay down a white underbase, so colours stay vivid on black and dark garments. Our Farmers Choice Deli apron is an example of full-colour on black.
We print on standard aprons and kitchen apparel. We don't make claims about flame resistance or specialist protective certification — if your garment is safety-rated, check with the manufacturer before decorating it.

Production Options

Choosing A Production Method

The right method depends on your artwork, garment and stage.

DTG — samples and small drops

Photographic detail, unlimited colours, no minimum. The usual choice for testing a design or a limited release on cotton garments.

DTF — versatile across fabrics

Works on cotton, polyester and blends, light or dark. Useful when your garment range isn't all cotton, or when artwork is full-colour.

Screen Printing — production runs

Cost per piece drops sharply with volume. Best for bold, limited-colour graphics once you're producing in quantity rather than testing.

Embroidery — for premium pieces

Stitched branding on hats, jackets and heavyweight pieces where a printed logo would feel cheap.

Not sure which method you need? Tell us about your project and we'll help recommend the appropriate option.

FAQ

Common Questions

Depends on artwork and quantity. Photographic or many-colour art suits DTG or DTF. Bold two- or three-colour graphics at volume are cheapest by screen printing. Send us the artwork and quantity and we'll tell you which fits.
Yes — DTG has no minimum, so a one-piece sample is possible. DTF starts at 12 pieces. Samples are paid orders. It's worth doing before committing to a large screen-print run.
We keep your approved garment, placement and production specs so repeat runs are consistent. Slight variation between fabric dye lots is normal in apparel and outside our control.

Timing

Have A Deadline? Tell Us Up Front.

Event orders are often deadline-sensitive. Include your desired date when requesting a quote so we can evaluate production options and availability. Rush options may be available depending on the project and production schedule.
Simple Process

2

6

We Produce Your Order

Using the fastest suitable method for your timeline.

7

Pickup or Delivery

Collect in Brooklyn, or we ship ahead of your date.

Production Options

Which Method Fits Your Timeline

For deadline-driven orders, quantity and turnaround usually decide the method.

DTF — flexible and fast to set up

No screens to prepare, works on most fabrics, 12-piece minimum. Often the practical choice when a date is close or quantities are modest.

DTG — small groups, full colour

No minimum and full-colour detail. Suits smaller groups and designs with photographs or gradients.

Screen Printing — best value over ~50

Screen setup takes time up front but per-shirt cost drops significantly. Worth it for larger groups if the deadline allows.

Embroidery — caps and premium items

Stitched finish for hats and jackets. Note that stitch count affects production time, so mention it early if your date is tight.

Not sure which method you need? Tell us about your project and we'll help recommend the appropriate option.

Give us your best estimate to get quoted. Size breakdowns can usually be finalised later, though changes close to a deadline may affect turnaround.
Names or numbers on individual shirts are possible, but they add production time. Mention it when you request your quote so we can factor it into the deadline.
Screen printing, once you're over about 50 pieces with a simple design. Below that, DTF or DTG usually works out better because there's no screen setup.
Tell us as early as you can. Before production starts we can usually adjust. Once your order is on the press it's in progress and can't be paused.

Production Options

Which Method Suits Staff Apparel

Wear frequency and formality usually decide the method.

Screen Printing — best value in quantity

Durable and cost-effective once you're over about 24 pieces with a simple logo.

Embroidery — for polos and jackets

A more formal, premium finish that holds up on garments worn daily.

DTF — full colour, any fabric

Works on cotton, poly and blends. 12-piece minimum, useful for smaller teams.

DTG — detailed artwork, small runs

Full-colour detail with no minimum. Best on cotton garments.

Not sure which method you need? Tell us about your project and we'll help recommend the appropriate option.
FAQ

Common Questions

DTG has no minimum and DTF starts at 12 pieces, so a small run is fine. Screen printing becomes the better value from about 24 pieces up.
Yes — different colours, different garments, or a department name added under the logo. Mention it when you request your quote so we can price it properly.
We have an existing wholesale program for higher-volume clients. For regular but smaller orders, contact us and we can discuss what makes sense.
We print from your artwork and get as close as the method allows, but we don't guarantee exact Pantone matching unless agreed in writing in advance. Screen printing gives the most control over specific colours.
Very common. Send us what you have — we'll tell you whether it will print well and what would need to change.

Production Options

Which Method Fits Group Orders

Quantity and deadline usually decide it.

Screen Printing — best value over ~50

Per-piece cost drops sharply with volume, which suits whole-squad or whole-year-group orders.

DTF — flexible, from 12 pieces

Works on most fabrics including performance poly. Good when quantities are modest or the date is close.

DTG — small groups, full colour

No minimum and full-colour detail. Suits smaller squads and detailed artwork.

Embroidery — caps and premium pieces

Stitched finish for hats and jackets. Stitch count affects production time, so flag it early.

Not sure which method you need? Tell us about your project and we'll help recommend the appropriate option.

FAQ

Common Questions

Yes, though it adds production time compared with one identical design across the group. Mention it when you request your quote so we can factor it into the timeline.
Usually yes — DTF works well on polyester and performance blends where DTG doesn't. Tell us the exact garment and we'll confirm.
Give us your best estimate to get quoted, then finalise the size breakdown before production. Changes close to a deadline may affect turnaround.
Your specs stay on file, so a follow-up order is straightforward. Per-piece pricing depends on the size of that new order, not the original one.
